Ladd Hosts the Port City Classic in 2023!

Mark your calendar now for The Port City Classic Football Game, Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, when Grambling takes on Alabama State. It’s the inaugural kickoff of this second HBCU game in Mobile! More details to follow!

OUr History
We have so much to tell you about! Did you know that Elvis Presley played a concert at Ladd-Peebles in 1955? Jimmy Buffett, Mobile’s own Wet Willie, the Allman Brothers, and Charlie Daniels have also headlined at Ladd. The first football game held at the sports and entertainment complex was between The University of Alabama and Vanderbilt University. Auburn University also played at Ladd facing Clemson, Florida, and Ole Miss. Southern Miss took on their opponents at Ladd-Peebles in past games with Texas A&M, Florida State, and Alabama!
